'The Paintings, The Tea and...' tea event🍵
I will hold a tea ceremony event, 'The Paintings, The Tea and...'. in my next exhibit in February.
The special tea master, Tajima san, will select several tea leaves that match the mood or theme of my paintings. (It'll be awesome!😉)
In the tea ceremony with Tajima san, we can usually enjoy the tea aroma before drinking it by using a special cup (for sniffing the scent). So, you could dive into a relaxing and unique mood different from the usual tea we drink casually from a mug.
No need to worry about the rules or if you're unfamiliar with the whole thing. The purpose of this event is to just enjoy a rare combination of paintings and tea. I'm super excited!
Why don't you leave all your difficulties behind, just let yourself flow with the special tea, and expand and release your mind broadly and freely!

If you are unfamiliar with Japanese but are interested in joining this event, please get in touch with me in advance.
I think enjoying specially selected tea could still be a lovely moment, even in Japanese, but if you feel worried about it, I'd like to help you as much as I can.
During the event, I'll be in the same venue as the artist to entertain the visitors to look at my paintings. But when I am available, maybe I can support you in interpreting the tea ceremony.

■My connection with Tajima san
When my husband used to run a cafe with me in Asakusa, Tokyo, we would stock seasonal teas from Tajima san.
Sometimes we co-hosted events, and I was also exposed to his lovely ideas: "Tea tastes better when you're surrendering yourself to it rather than trying to brew it to taste good.” He is a wonderful person.
Recently, I visited his tea ceremony in Nakameguro, Tokyo. While immersing myself in his tea world, I thought, "How interesting it would be to drink his tea in my exhibit." So, right after the event, I proposed collaborating with him. He readily agreed, so I can now introduce him to you.
We are planning to visit his tea garden in Shizuoka in May. Then, either my exhibit in August or November, I may show you some pieces inspired by that experience.
