This is part of my ‘Fun with paper’ Series.
Do you like to stare at the candle lights? I love to watch the candles as their flickers make me feel at peace.
Before speaking of my painting, let me tell you a story about a paper bag that held my present for my mom 20 years ago. I made it for her birthday. Through the years, it was in her safekeeping as memorabilia of my appreciation to her. She then handed it down to inspire me this time. So I framed it.
I tried to use that wrapping bag as a motif for my new painting this time. I intended to put my distant memories and the moment with an old atmosphere.
So please enjoy the thick surface of the flames and melting wax on this new painting. Aside from that, my favorite part is the gold-colored spots on the edge of the canvas.
